ATTENTION!!! Important School Supplies!
My classroom will have a class set of Google Chromebooks. You will be assigned a Chromebook to keep in class. You will need earbuds (it would be kinda' gross to share), and you may want to invest in a cheap mouse if you are not comfortable with the finger pad.

Save the Date!
Monday, September 8 from 6-7 pm there will be a very important parent meeting in the Performing Arts Center. I will be going over expectations of this school year. It's pretty important for parents to be there. Let them know! More information will come when school starts.

It's Coming Up!!!
The first day of school is only 2 short weeks away!!! This summer has flown by! I will be in-and-out of my classroom until school starts. If you are not receiving my texts, please send me an email and I will keep you informed as to when I will be in the building. GO RAMS!!
Thursday, July 31, 2014
Please remember that school will be starting in approximately one month. I am on vacation/working/out of town (off-and-on)/and have personal commitments. For those of you who have not been invited or your invite expired to the Summer APUSH Group, I'm sorry, your time is up. You will not be missing out on anything when school starts but you may experience a bit more stress than those who have already been working diligently. I hope the rest of your summer is a great, keep your chins up! GO RAMS!

Summer Assignment
.Advanced Placement United States History (APUSH)
Summer Assignment Information
Welcome to APUSH!! I’m happy to be working with motivated, hard-working, goal oriented students! Your level of effort will determine your level of success in the classroom and your success may lead to college credit.
You are being given a summer assignment that will be due on the first day of school (Wednesday, September 3, 2014). The purpose of this assignment is to give you a head start and background knowledge before school starts. There is a great deal of material to cover in order to be prepared for the College Board exam in May.
Since you will not be purchasing your copy of Amsco’s “United States History, Preparing for the Advanced Placement Exam” (2010) until the first week of school, (the front office one will order one for you.) I will share a copy with you through Google Apps. Please check your school gmail account often.
Assignment:
1. You have been given a map of the original 13 colonies. Please print and label these.
2. You have been given a map of the United States. Please print and label these with accurate state initials (i.e., Washington = WA, Florida = FL and so on...)
Read Chapters 1-6 of the American Pageant 12th edition. I will share these first six chapters with you through Google Apps.
Read Chapters 1-5 of the AMSCO book which I have shared with you through Google Apps..
Also...have a fantastic summer!!!
Ms. Niles
